MEDIEVAL VIEWS ON THE VALUE OF LITERATURE

Abstract

After escaping from the North, in parallel with building national independence, the Vietnamese also created a written literature with outstanding achievements from the Ly and Tran dynasties. Along with the practice of writing, our ancestors also had quite comprehensive concepts about literary theory. Outstanding in the medieval theoretical system is the determination of the position and role of literature in life. Literature has a great mission in contributing to affirming the face and position of the nation. It also plays an important role in the development of each individual's personality, morality and career. With that importance, ancient people considered literature more precious than gold and jewels. Bringing that into today's social and literary life, it still has its value.
