A POSTMODERN PERSPECTIVE ABOUT PEOPLE IN DINH PHUONGʹS NOVELS

  • Lê Thị Thu Hồng

Abstract

From the second half of the twentieth century, postmodernism penetrated into Vietnam. The influence of this theory is clearly and deeply reflected in the works of Southern urban literature. After 1986, changes in artistic thinking and human perception created an opportunity for postmodernism to flourish. Postmodern feelings are evident in the works of many modern writers, including Dinh Phuong. From exploiting the hidden corners of modern social life, Dinh Phuong focuses on portraying people, aiming to awaken and honor human values associated with a unique personal ego. The outstanding thing about postmodern people is living alone, instinctively and different, magical. With a postmodern sense, the image of man is featured in Dinh Phuong's novels.
