INDUSTRIAL, URBANIZATION, AND MIGRANT LABOR IN BINH DUONG PROVINCE

Abstract

Separated from Song Be province, after 25 years of re-establishment (1997–2022), Binh Duong province has affirmed its important role in the process of industrialization in the Southern region in particular and the whole country in general. Based on statistical data, the paper presents the situation of urbanization, industrialization, and migrant workers in Binh Duong. The research shows that the Binh Duong economy has been developing and the demand for human resources in the industrial and service sectors is very large, so Binh Duong has become a place to attract many flows of migrants from other provinces in the country and foreign employees. Therefore, Binh Duong is a place of urbanization with the highest rate of migrants in the country, and this also has many consequences for the social life of migrants. The research results contribute to suggesting an appropriate urban development policy in the context of urbanization with a large number of migrants.
