Abstract

(-) - Epigallocatechin (EGC) is one of the catechin compounds that contributes significantly to tea's biological activity. Although many previous studies have reported the cytotoxic effects of EGC on some types of cancer as well as elucidating its mechanism of action; however, EGCG, another type of catechin, is the most studied subject, so more research on EGC compounds is still required to provide more scientific evidence for this compound. We investigated the antiproliferative effect of acute myeloid leukemia (AML) cells containing the ETV6-NTRK3 fusion gene in this study. EGC had a proliferation inhibitory effect on the survey cell lines, with an IC50 value of 11,39 ± 0,99 µM for Ba/F3-AML, 14,42 ± 0,95µM for Ba/F3-CFS, 21,49 ± 0,98µM for MO-91, and 20,90 ± 1,52µM for IMS-M2.
