STRUCTURE, MICROSTRUCTURE AND PHOTOCATALYTIC ACTIVITY OF Ag-DOPED TiO2 MATERIALS FABRICATED BY HYDROTHERMAL METHOD

Abstract

Nano TiO2 were synthesized by hydrothermal method, the samples are doped for x % wt Ag2O , with x = 0.1, 0.2, 0.4, 0.6, 0.8. The samples were heated at 6500C for 15 minutes. Structure and microstructure was studied by XRD, FESEM techniques; they showed that all of Ag dopped samples are single anatase phase, the smallest particle size is 33,4nm and they have structure of particles mixing with the tubes. Photocatalytic activity was measured by UV-Vis spectra and the optical density by degrading capability to blue Methylene. The samples were irradiated by sunlight and the sample with composition is 0.8% wt Ag2O has photocatalytic activity the strongest.
