Analyzing the effect of shaft grouting on pile using the load - transfer method
Abstract
Paper proposed the simplified approach in performing and analyzing the effectiveness of shaft-grouted piles. The proposed approach was based on load-transfer mechanism cooperating with an updated equation in calculating skin resistance of shaft-grouted piles. Pile load tests in Ho Chi Minh City were used as verification cases. Comparisons between results of predictions and measures were implemented. With close-fit between prediction and measured results, the extensive investigations based on the proposed approach were obtained to examine the effectiveness of shaft-grouted technique to the bearing capacity of the investigated shaft-grouted pile by varying the diameter and length of the pile. The results and proposed approach can be a good reference for practical engineering in the initial design of shaft-grouted pile.
