Contemporary Penal Code’s provisions on a number of primary sentences applied to offenders – current situation and recommendations

Abstract

The article aims to clarify the current situation of the Penal Code 2015’s provisions on a number of primary sanctions applied to offenders. To that end, several shortcomings in terms of legislative techniques and content shall be scrutinized and assessed. Accordingly, recommendations are proposed in order to improve Vietnam’s legal framework regarding fine, warning, deportation, and life imprisonment applied to offenders.
