BIOTECH CROPS AND THEIR IMPACTS ON THE ENVIRONMENT

Abstract

The continuous development of adoption of biotech crops is seen as having a positive technological impact on the environment, people and animal health as well as reforming socio-economic conditions of farmers and local authorities. However, there is still a lot of controversy with the unscientific arguments about the impact of biotech crops on those objects. Studies showed that the delay in adopting biotech crops results in significant losses of economy and potential values. The benefits of biotech crops to farmers and consumers will be maintained with the continued addition of scientific-based adjustments focused on the benefits of biotech crops such as agricultural productivity along with the impact on environmental conservation and ecological stability
