SURVEY ON VOLUNTARY AWARENESS OF ANTIBIOTIC USE BY STUDENTS OF VAN LANG UNIVE

Abstract

The article is based on a cross-sectional study conducted on 1000 students of Van Lang University to assess the students' knowledge and practice on the use of antibiotics. As a result, more than half of the students, accounting for 66,1%, had correct knowledge about antibiotics and some students, accounting for 43,8%, mistakenly believed that using antibiotics to cure quickly of common colds and coughs. Regarding attitude; 72,3% of surveyed students had a good attitude about arbitrarily using antibiotics. In terms of practice, 60,8% of 510 students had self-indulgence in using antibiotics because they thought the disease would be mild and simple. It is necessary to propagate and offer educational options on how to properly use antibiotics to students in particular and the community in general
