Abstract

The endogenous religions born in the South, western have many outstanding teachings on the relationship and behavior of followers with the natural environment during the religious practice. The system of teaching content is deeply topical, contributing a part to the protection of the natural environment. The article aims to research on th thought “prohibiting killing and harming animals” of endogenous religions in the South-western region in relation to Buddhist thought on ecological environment. The study focuses on the main contents such as overview of the endogenous religions born in the South-western region; The thought of “prohibiting killing and harming animals” of the religions Buu Son Ky Huong, Tu An Hieu Nghia, and Hoa Hao Buddhism; The relationship between the thought "prohibiting killing and harming animals" of these religions with the view of Buddhism on ecology
