ART THERAPY FOR CHILDREN WITH AUTISM APPROACHES FROM THE PERSPECTIVE OF SOCIAL WORK

Abstract

Art therapy is an area of mental health care that uses the creative process of art to improve and enhance the physical, mental and emotional wellbeing of people, of all ages year old. Especially, for children with autism, art therapy can be a great way to open the door to the integration of children with autism, this is also an approach that brings many positive effects because characteristics of the current social work profession. The article mentions the role of art therapy, basic forms and methods of art therapy through painting activities of children with autism, thereby contributing to improving cognitive ability and competence behavior for children with autism.
