TEACHING SINGING SKILLS TO PRACTICE ENGLISH SONGS FOR 5-6 YEAR OLD CHILDREN

Abstract

At the age of 5 to 6 years old, music in general and singing in particular are indispensable activities. Music brings children into the world of joy, love of nature and life. Children are more receptive to the lessons through the joyful melodies of songs than through dry instructions or commands. Children becomes more agile, more dynamic and more innocent when they are learnt to sing and dance. Currently, in our country, in the era of integration with the world, besides learning to sing Vietnamese songs, the demand for learning English songs is increasing, even for children of preschool age. For a long time, English which has been considered as an international language has been taught as a foreign language in the general curriculum in many countries. The role of English in the current context is very necessary, especially when cultural exchange and integration becomes more and more extensive because English is the solid foundation for children to receive new developed cultural flows.
