Abstract

In the process of development, the socioeconomic development indexes of ethnic minorities in Vietnam have the trend to lag far behind in comparison with ethnic majority, having a great difference of multidimensional poverty ratio of children between the two population groups. Almost the children of minority group encounter more difficulties of access to basic social services such as health care and education in comparison with those of majority group. Ratio of malnourished children of minority group is almost double the general ratio of whole country. Although the universalizing pre-school for 5 year old children of minority group has advanced, but it is still formalistic, not satisfying the national standard. Health care and education to children aged from 2 to 4 is still ignored due to the lack of schoolrooms, teachers and intervening policies and models. This paper analyses some problems of health care and education to ethnic minority children aged from 2 to 5 of some groups of ethnic minorities in Vietnam, thence puts forth certain solutions in order to enhance the awareness of health care and education to ethnic minority children.
