EVALUATION OF THE CONTRIBUTIONS OF THE FIELD TRIP TO TOURISM TRAINING (DEPARTMENT OF FRENCH, HO CHI MINH CITY UNIVERSITY OF EDUCATION)

Abstract

The paper studies the contributions of field trips, which have long been considered an integral part of the tourism training program. They are seen as a training tool that develops professional experience and skills, and establishes the relationship between theory-based knowledge and their practical application. The research is based on the field trips conducted at the Tourism section (French department, Ho Chi Minh city University of Education). This paper applies questionnaire surveys with participating students and interviews with participating teachers in order to evaluate the impacts of this tool on student transformation in the training process. The research results, in addition to the strengths and weaknesses of the tool, clarify the training effects as field experiences, reinforcement of professional skills, improvement of resourcefulness… and other benefits.
