LEARNING STRATEGIES BY VIETNAMESE CHINESE STUDENTS IN HO CHI MINH CITY

Abstract

 

This article investigates how Vietnamese Chinese students in Ho Chi Minh city apply learning strategies and explores the relationship between genders, age, and academic achievements on the use of these learning strategies. The study found that the most commonly used learning strategies are cognitive strategies, meta-cognitive strategies and social strategies, and the least commonly used is emotional strategies. There is no difference between the gender and age in using learning strategies, but the frequency of using the cognitive strategies influenced students’ performances.
