Abstract

THE HARMONY BETWEEN MAHAYANA WITH THE TRADITIONAL RELIGIONS IN TIEN GIANG PROVINCE THROUGH THE SURVEY OF SOME BUDDHIST TEMPLES

Tien Giang is a new land, which was excavated around the beginning of the 17th century. There are many communities such as the Vietnamese, Chinese, Khmer, Cham, etc. with many traditional cultures, different religions and beliefs. Thus, the religious culture in Tien Giang province is compatible with different cultures, religions such as Buddhism, Confucianism and Taoism, Catholicism, Islam, etc. Besides, Buddhism has blended with folk religions and transformed to be suitable with folk religious activities. Through the establishment and object of worship of some Buddhist temples in Tien Giang Province has shown that Buddhism is not only influenced by folk religions, but it also incorporates with folk religions to create a unique Buddhist cultural identity.
