GUARANTEE THE RIGHT TO PARTICIPATE IN POLITICS OF WOMEN IN VIETNAM NOWADAYS – SOME THEORETICAL AND PRACTICAL ISSUES

Abstract

In the recent years, the Party and the State have always affirmed their support for gender equality policy in all areas of social life. This political commitment has been shown through the promulgation of specific policies, laws as well as practical action programs. However, the practice of law enforcement still shows that there is still big inequality on rights and obligations between men and women, especially in the field of politics. Therefore, within the scope of this article, the author explores the status of ensuring women's right to politics, thereby identifying barriers and challenges as a basis for finding appropriate solutions to improve the effectiveness of insuring the proportion of women in politics that contribute to Vietnam's good implementation of the Third Millennium Goal "Enhancing gender equality and empowering women".
