TOURISM-BASED LIVELIHOOD CAPACITY OF ETHNIC MINORITY HOUSEHOLDS (THE CASE STUDY OF KHMER ETHNIC GROUP IN AN GIANG PROVINCE)

Abstract

The article analyzes the current situation of livelihood capacity based tourism and factors affecting livelihood capacity based tourism of Khmer ethnic households in An Giang province, based on the
DFID theoretical approach to livelihoods. 125 Khmer ethnic households in Tinh Bien and Tri Ton districts
were surveyed by questionnaires. Through the analysis of livelihood resources including: human factors,
social factors, natural factors, economic factors, and political institutional factors, thereby proposing
orientations and solutions for livelihood development based on effective tourism and reducing poverty for
local people.
