INCOME IN THE SOUTHEAST REGION IN THE PERIOD OF 2010-2020

Abstract

Arccording to on the data set of the results of the Vietnam Household Living Standards Survey 2010-2020 (VHLSS) of the General Statistics Office (GSO), the article aimed to analyze empirical
evidences on the progress of income inequality in the South East of Vietnam over the past decade (2010-
2020) in which the gaps of the rich and the poor; urban - rural areas; and the inequality between this regieon
and others in Vietnam have been diversified and differentiated significantly. The study also presented and
discussed the drivers of income inequality; and proposed the possibility to solve them by using Income
Gap Coefficient, Gini Coefficient and the 40WB criteria.
