SOME RECOMMENDATIONS OF CULTURAL ZONING TO REGIONAL SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT IN VIETNAM

Abstract

The article introduces the importance of regional culture in the process of regional sustainable development in Vietnam and the criteria for cultural zoning and its relation to regional sustainable development policies in Vietnam. The theoretical foundations of these arguments are theories of cultural areas and historical-ethnological areas, theories of cultural geography and cultural ecology of scientists and criteria for cultural zoning set. From that, the article gives the plan to divide Vietnamese cultural space into six culture regions: The Northwest and North-Central Mountains; the Viet Bac and Northeast; the North and North-Central Plains; the Central and South-Central Plains; the South; and the Truong Son Mountains and Central Highlands. This way of cultural zoning will help make the right, successful and effective policy.
