TRADITIONAL CULTURAL OF THAI PEOPLE IN MOC CHAU DISTRICT, SON LA PROVINCE AND TRADITIONAL CULTURAL OF MONG PEOPLE IN SAPA DISTRICT, LAO CAI PROVINCE IN TOURISM DEVELOPMENT

Abstract

The paper presents an overview of the current situation of promoting traditional cultural factors of the Thai people in Moc Chau district, Son La province and traditional cultural factors of  the Mong people in Sa Pa district, Lao Cai province in tourism activities. The vibrant colors of the Mong people’s brocade, the unique dances of the Thai people, the walled houses, the stilt houses... have become the tourism resources of humanity to attract tourists. Thereby, affirming the important role of traditional culture of ethnic minorities in the socio-economic development cause of nation, and affirming that tourism development based on ethnic culture is very correct direction. The results of tourism activities in the two mountainous provinces are presented in association with the Thai and Mong ethnic groups typical for the Northwest culture, contributing to assessing the importance of economic tourism activities in the overall economic development of the Northwest region towards the goal of sustainable development.
