Abstract

Study on some risk factors related to Feline calicivirus causing respiratory disease in cats was carried out on 471 cats at the Laboratory of Veterinary clinic, Can Tho university. Clinical examination and rapid test by Asan easy test kit (FCV-Ag), manufactured by Asan company of Korea were applied to determine the status of Feline calicivirus infection in cats. The studied results showed that the rate of cats infected with Feline calicivirus disease through rapid test at the Laboratory of Veterinary clinic, Can Tho university
was 6.58% of total number of the surveyed cats. The rate of cats at 2 years old or younger infected with Feline calicivirus disease was 4.98 times higher than that of the cats at older than 2 years old. The infection risk of the unvaccinated cats or the vaccinated cats with not enough dose were 3.26 times higher than that of the cats with full vaccination.
