Study on several pathological characteristics on swine infected with acute diarrhea (porcine epidemic diarrhea-PED) in Bac Giang province

Abstract

In order to study some pathological characteristics on swine infected with Porcine Epidemic Diarrhea (PED), 26 samples of sick or dead pigs with the specific clinical signs and base on PCR diagnostic results were collected as the research materials. Then, pig samples were examined by autopsy for observing the gross lesions and making the histological slices. The studied
results showed that the specific clinical signs of the pig infected with PEDV were mournful, exhausted, fluid stinking yellow feces, emaciated. The main gross lesions included thin carcass, wrinkled and dry skin, bulging stomach with undigested feed, small intestines were bulged, thin wall, containing many foamy. Furthermore, the lesions scores in the pigs infected with PED concentrated in other internal organs like liver, spleen, lung, lymphnodes and kidney. The changes of histological lesions scores in the intestine tract were observed including hyperemia, hemorrhagic, imbued inflammation cells, degenerate cells, destroyed villis, proliferation in lymphoma follicles. The changes of lesions scores in the other internal organs were similar
