Abstract

The objective of this study aimed at investigating the effect of probiotics containing Bacillus spores to the coccidial infection rate and intensity in the colour broiler chickens from new hatch to 40 days old; effect in clearing coccidial oocysts in the intestines of the chickens after 10 days of using probiotics in combination with anti-coccidial drugs; and effect in prevention of the villa in the small intestinal epithelial membranes of the chickens. The studied result showed that probiotics containing Bacillus spores adding in drinking water had reduced the coccidial infection rate and intensity in the chickens at 28 days old and 40 days old. Using probiotics in combination with sulfadimethoxin and trimethoprim or sulfadimidine and sulfaquinoxaline drugs had also cleared the coccidial oocysts in the chickens after 10 days of treatment. The probiotics protected villa in small intestinal epithelia in duodenum and jejunum. This is the studied results on the effect of probiotics in improving the function of the digestion track and the resistance of chicken against coccidiosis.
