Investigation result on Vibrio bacteria number in water and sediment environment of lobster culture area in cage at Xuan Dai bay, Phu Yen province

Abstract

The results of analyzing 162 water samples and 18 sediment samples collecting from lobster farming areas in cages at Xuan Dai bay (Xuan Thanh, Xuan Yen and Xuan Phuong communes), Phu Yen province in 2018 showed that the total number of Vibrio bacteria in water environment ranged from <10 to 3.8 x 104cfu/ml, this number was usually high (≥104 cfu /ml) at the nearby of coastal line and locations of lobster cage placement where the samples were collected in Xuan Phuong and Xuan Yen communes from April to June 2018 period. The total number of Vibrio bacteria in the sediment samples ranged from 1.4 x 103 to 4.3 x 104 cfu/g, the highest bacteria number presented in the samples collecting at the end of June, 2018. The total number of Vibrio bacteria in sediment samples in Xuan Yen culture area was higher than that of the Xuan Phuong and Xuan Thanh cultue areas in most of the surveyed time.
