Abstract

The research was carried out on 15 fish species with 211 marine ornamental fish collecting
from the sea in Ha Long, Quang Ninh; Nha Trang, Khanh Hoa province, and transporting to
Time City aquarium, in Ha Noi from February to October 2016. The studied results showed
that marine fish was infected with Cryptocarion irritans with the prevalence of 67.77% and the
intensity of 7.64 /4x10. The infection rate and intensity were high in spring (91.03%), and low in
summer (39.29%). Among the marine ornamental fish species raising popularly, three species,
such as: Platax teira, Diodon holocanthus, and Paracanthurus hepatus were infected with C.
iritans which caused white spot disease with the highest prevalence and intensity (100% and 12
parasites/4x10 field), and the fish species (Rhinecanthus aculeatus) was infected with C. irritans
at the lowest prevalence during May to July. White spot disease is one of the most dangerous
parasitology for marine ornamental fish.
