Abstract

The result of testing 1,555 fecal samples of chickens raising in Me Linh district, Ha Noi City showed that chicken infecting with Ascaridia galli accounted for a relatively high rate (48.10%) with the infection intensity ranged from mild level to very severe level. The infection rate and intensity were highly variable by age, the highest rate was found in the chickens at 3 - 6 months old (50.75%) and the lowest rate was found in the chickens over 6 months old (30.64%). The infection rate of chicken in summer-autumn was higher than that in winter-spring (51.42% versus 43.50%). The out-door raising chickens were infected with the highest rate (58.61%) and the in-door raising chickens were infected with the lowest rate (29.09%). Time for roundworm eggs developing into larvae in summer was shorter than in winter.
