Potential for agri-tourism development in Phu My district, Binh Dinh province

Abstract

This study analyzes the potential for agritourism development in Phu My
district, Binh Dinh province. The authors use research methods such as field survey, expert
interview, analytical hierarchy process (AHP) to assess the potentialities for developing
agri-tourism based on four aspects. The study shows that the potential for agritourism
development in Phu My district is assessed at 3,718/5 points overall, in which the criterion of
local community’s willingness to participate in agritourism development ranks the highest
(3.786/5 points), followed by the criteria of agritourism resources, the local government’s
attention to developing agritourism, the trend of agri-tourism, and the agri-tourism market.
The study proposes a number of solutions to promoting agritourism activities in the locality.
