Transnational crimes in the Bien Dong Seain recent years

Abstract

In the decades of the early 21st century, the Bien Dong Seahas been known as one of the most essential areas in the world in terms of geoeconomics, geopolitics, and military geography, closely related to maritime trade of numerous nations and territories in the region and the world as well. Therefore, the security of the Sea is of special interest to the world public opinion. The Bien Dong Sea brings different countries both great opportunities and several challenges. One of them can be seen as transnational maritime crimes that have been on the rise with multiple forms and complex action streams. In most countries bordering on seas, the maritime security is closely connected to and an integral part of the land security. In the context that great powers have enhanced their investments in arms race, especially the navy, threats to the maritime security have been becoming a critical issue that needs more attention in building their national defense security policy.
