The interest in public opinion in ethnic minority areas and applying issues in public opinion orientation

Abstract

The interest is an important feature of public opinion. Whether on the individual, group, community or even nation level, public opinion is always influenced by interest. Each individual or social group always tries to control and direct the flow of public opinion in a direction for his interest. But the interest between individuals and groups are not always identical, so there may be “conflicts of interest” in the exchange and discussion to form social opinion. In fact, the same problem, event, and social phenomenon have different flows of public opinion. Based on the qualitative research on public opinion of ethnic minorities, this article proves that because the interest in society is so diverse, public opinion is also multidimensional and cannot be directed by one certain way. Thereby, the article also opens up methods to orient the public opinion by analysing the interest, harmonizing the interest of stakeholders.
