Model of Ngoc Linh ginseng cultivation under a forest canopy in Kon Tum province: A SWOT analysis

Abstract

Based mainly on qualitative research method, combined with statistical analysis, the article assesses the current status of ginseng cultivation under the forest canopy by households in Kon Tum province. The article also analyses the strengths (S), weaknesses (W), opportunities (O) and threats (T) that farmers are facing in cultivating Ngoc Linh ginseng under natural forest canopy in Kon Tum province. Based on that, the article proposes a number of policy suggestions to promote Ngoc Linh ginseng production for the households, contributing to the goal of sustainable livelihood development for the local residents.
