Abstract
Through presenting systematically the use of the Quoc Ngu (Vietnamese National Writing) in two French educational reforms in colonial Vietnam, the author shows the process by which the French imposed the Vietnamese national script in Vietnam to gradually replace and abolish the Confucian education here. Thereby, the author draws on the positive outcomes that France has imposed on using Quoc Ngu in the educational reform program during their rule.
