Abstract

In the period of 1936-1939, when the French Popular Front after being born implemented a number of favorable policies to develop the press in Vietnam, the Indochinese Communist Party (ICP) quickly seized the opportunity and accelerated the public struggle in the field of journalism. However, in Central Vietnam, under the control of the Nguyen Dynasty, democratic freedoms including press freedom were still suffocated. The communists here made use of all conditions to be able to publish revolutionary newspapers in order to propagate the Party’s guidelines, to enlighten the masses and to fight for protecting working people’s rights. Overcoming many difficulties and challenges, a series of revolutionary newspapers were born in Central Vietnam, asserting the creativity, the sense of continuous struggle and the proper leadership of the ICP.
