Abstract

Using the panel data FGLS method, the paper analyzes determinants of international tourist arrivals to Viet Nam in the period 2010-2016. The results indicate that GDP per capita, expenditure, internet capacity, and population of tourists’origin countries are significant determinants affecting the number of foreign visitors to Viet Nam. Additionally, bilateral exchange rates, bilateral trade, geographical distances are determinants that have a significant influence on the number of international visitors to Viet Nam. The results allow us to suggest
some policy implications for Viet Nam’s tourism development in the upcoming years.
