Tortoise-shell roof house, a cultural component/ a cultural heritage of ethnic minorities of Quang Nam province, need/s to be preserved and developed

Abstract

The western part of Quang Nam province, the districts of Tay Giang, Dong Giang, Nam Giang, Phuoc Son, Bac Tra My, and Nam Tra My, is home to several ethnic minorities belonging to the Mon-Khmer language group, the South Asian family linguistic, such as Co Tu, Gie-Trieng, Xo Dang, Co, owner of a tortoise-shell roof house, a special and unique type of house in Vietnam and Southeast Asia. The paper focuses on clarifying some
fundamental values of tortoise-shell roof houses of ethnic minorities in Quang Nam and the status of change/ existence of tortoise-shell roof houses of ethnic minorities in Quang Nam province, in the present time. On that basis, the article proposes several solutions to preserve and promote the values of tortoise-shell roof houses of ethnic minorities in Quang Nam province.
