Abstract

Saline contamination is hindering rice production worldwide, thus indentify genes or Quantitative Trai Loci (QTL) responsible for salinity tolerance would be necessary for rice breeding to overcome this abiotic stress. A genetic linkage map was contructed using 100 microsatellite markers, with a total length of 1,405 cM. Important QTL’s associated with salinity tolerance at rice seeding stage were detected such as survival rate, school biomass, root biomass and ability to maintain high chloropyll b in leaves. The QTLs detected in this study wil be useful for molecular breeding and for indentifying useful genes or mechanism relating to salinity tolerance of rice
