Abstract

NiO loaded on different carries catalysts were prepared by loading Ni(No3) 2 .6H2O on many response carries y-Al2O3 , TiO2, SiO2, 30%y-Al2O3, + 70%SiO2. The physico-chemical properties of synthesized catalyst were characterized by BET, TPR, XRD and SEM methods. Catalyst activities were tested in methanation of carbon dioxide by hydrogen micro steam method. The results demonstrated that NiO/y-Al2O3 catalysts appear more CO2 conversion than NiO/other carriers. Especially, when catalyst modified by CaO, Li2O, CeO2 the activity increased.

NiO/y-Al2O3 catalysts got high activity for methanation of CO and CO2 mixture. NiO/y-Al2O3, catalysts were very stable high CO, CO2 conversion rate and excellent CH4 selectivity. Among the studied catalyst 37.7%NiO+0.3%Li2O/y -Al2O3, was the best one for CO2 methanation and mixture of CO and CO2 methanation. This catalyst has high potential for application.
