Analysis of the protection of agriculture and fishery sectors

Abstract

In 2007, Vietnam became a member of the World Trade Organization (WTO), entered the “global” playing field, multilateral and bilateral free trade agreements with major partners were officially signed. In order to increase the competitiveness of domestic goods, the Government needs to have reasonable supporting policies to protect domestic production. This study considers the change in the reciprocal influence of agriculture, forestry and fishery sectors on other economic sectors, and assesses protection policies for agriculture, forestry and fishery over two years and estimate the level of protection for this sector under the tariff reduction roadmap by 2020.
