Abstract

In the period 1954-1975, My Tho-Go Cong peasants desperately resisted the agricultural policies imposed by the American-backed Saigon government. Despite it still could not solve completely the problem of landlords' possession of land, the Party's policies towards land helped distribute land to farmers which significantly enabled the long-lasting struggles for national unification.

Thanks to the favorable cultivation condition, the development of techniques, as well as the farmers' dynamism, the agriculture of My Tho-Go Cong gained a significant development, especially in term of rice and fruit productions.
