Research and suggested planning of domestic solid waste collection routes in Binh Luc district, Ha Nam province

Abstract

Binh Luc district of Ha Nam province generates a large amount of domestic solid waste, with 85.56 tons per day, and the district's current rate of waste collection is about 96%. Nonetheless, there are still several shortcomings in the district's domestic solid waste management, particularly concerning the current collection network's inability to keep up with the district's projected growth in domestic solid waste generation as a result of future socioeconomic development through 2035. This study was conducted to evaluate the current status of domestic solid waste generation of 03 communes of Binh Luc district in 2023 and forecast the volume of domestic solid waste generated in 2035, thereby proposing collection route planning suitable for the increase in domestic solid waste in the future to improve the efficiency of domestic solid waste management in the district.
