Citizen’s participation on local governance in Khanh Hoa province

Abstract

Building a democratic, citizen-centered national governance is a crucial issue in order to achieve the social justice and sustainable develoment goals in Vietnam today. At local level, innovating and promoting local governance is an essential componet of national governance. Basing on the theoretical framework for local governance and secondary data taken from the Vietnam Governance and Public Administration Performance Index (PAPI), the article analyses the degree of quality and effectiveness of citizen’s participation on local governance in Khanh Hoa province, and then the paper proposes some solutions to improve the citizen’s participation on local governance in KhanhHoa province in the long run.
