Changes in population size and population structure by ethnic groups in Khanh Hoa province

Abstract

This paper analyses changes in population size and population structure by ethnic groups in Khanh Hoa Province based on statistical data obtained from the National population census in 1999, 2009 and 2019. The result illustrates that yearly average population growth rate of ethnic minorities is higher than that of the Kinh people, the most predominant ethnic in Vietnam. In addition, there is a gradual increase in population size and population percentage of ethnic minorities in the provincial population. This is a positive signal expressing the improvement and development of ethnic minorities in Khanh Hoa Province in conducting the National Population Strategy for the period up to 2030
