THE INFLUENCE OF LEADERSHIP COMPETENCY ON THE SUCCESS OF CORPORATE DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION

Abstract

Digital transformation is an inevitable trend that implementing in business
and social life. Vietnamese firms are implementing digital transformation under
the impact of the Fourth revolution leading to the change in business models. To
successfully transform digitally, firm managers and leaders need to understand
and grasp global trends as well as improve strategic thinking and need to
accumulate experience and actively learn to build digital strategies for firms. This
study examines the influence of leadership competency on the success of digital
transformation in businesses. The research results show that leadership
competency can have a strong influence on the digital transformation of firms.
Firm mangers need to create a suitable working environment so employees can
learn and use new technology. If leaders have a clear and strong vision for
implementing digital transformation, and they make specific strategic plans and
implementation decisions, then firms will have many opportunities to succeed in
digital transformation.
