Abstract

Visual impairment is always a disadvantage and obstacle for individuals with visual impairments in their
work and education, affecting the quality of their daily life and activities. To address this, a Vietnamese Braille
raised letter board has been developed to support learning and work for the visually impaired in the digital age.
This board can incorporate advanced artificial intelligence (AI) algorithms to control tactile feedback
mechanisms, facilitating the learning of Vietnamese Braille characters for the visually impaired. The board is
integrated with advanced sensors and actuation mechanisms. Both laboratory and real-world experiments have
demonstrated that the Vietnamese Braille raised letter board accurately receives and displays signals from a
computer and quickly responds to Braille characters through an electromagnetic drive system. The tactile
feedback mechanism ensures that the raised Braille dots are durable and user-friendly, providing a rich sensory
experience on the fingertips of the visually impaired users. Furthermore, the Vietnamese Braille raised letter
board also includes modules for signal reception and transmission, enabling the emission of sound to enhance
listening and reading comprehension skills for the visually impaired individuals. This innovation aims to
empower visually impaired individuals, allowing them to access educational materials and information more
effectively and independently.
