ANALYSIS AND COMPARISION OF BATTERY TYPES FOR ELECTRIC VEHICLES

Abstract

Electric vehicles are considered as environmentally friendly means of
transport in the future. The battery of an electric vehicle is an important part that
plays a decisive role in the operation and safety of electric cars (Hybrid Electric
Vehicles; Battery Electric Vehicles). Battery technology for electric vehicles has a
rapid development rate and requires in-depth research not only in theory but
also in practical application. The article analyzes an overview of batteries used for
electric vehicles including: low-voltage batteries (used for electrical equipment)
and high-voltage batteries (used for electric motors providing traction for
vehicles). Specific analysis of characteristics, requirements as well as comparison
of evaluation criteria, selection of batteries for electric vehicles are given and
summarized in tables and charts.
