EFFECT OF BREAST SHAPE AND DIMENSIONS ON PRESSURE AND PRESSURE COMFORT OF WOMEN BRA

Abstract

Pressure and degree of pressure comfort of women's bras affects the
wearer's perception. These quantities are influenced by many factors related to
the bra, the wearer's chest body characteristics, activities, time of wearing, and
the environment. This article presents the results of a study on the influence of
breast shape on pressure and pressure comfort of a 75B Triump women's bra
with 5 young women. Breast dimensions are measured from chest 3D scan data.
Bra pressures at 14 positions were measured with the PB228 device. Pressure
comforts at 6 time points were assessed subjectively by the wearing trial. The
results show that breast shape has an effect on the pressures and the pressure
comfort of the bra. The pressure comfort of the bra is inversely proportional to
the wearing time, and there is a relationship between breast dimensions,
pressure and pressure comfort of women's bras.
