3D GARMENT PATTERN DESIGN METHODS USING COMPUTER

Abstract

Currently, with the development of the garment industry, designing garments
requires visualization, fast and fitting. There are many studies on 3-dimensional
garment design to response the requirements of the garment industry and the
needs of the wearer. However, the problem of these design methods to solve the
requirements in the field of garment design has not been fully addressed. An
overview of the 3-dimensional garment design methods helps to classify the
researches, contributing to the selection of garment design methods and more
effective research. From there, exploit the superiority of each design method to
solve the problems of the garment industry. The 3-dimensional garment design
methods on computers are systematically presented in this article. The researches
were collected and classified into 3 groups based on the method of 3-dimensional
pattern design. Thereby, the advantages, limitations of the research work done and
the challenges are also shown in the article.
