DEVELOPING INFORMATION RESOURCES AT THE LIBRARY & INFORMATION CENTER OF THE HANOI UNIVERSITY OF INDUSTRY

Abstract

In recent years, the role of library and information centers have been
increasingly appreciated and developed. Library is considered the key to open
the door to enter the knowledge treasure of humanity. During the booming
period of information explosion, the amount of newly generated information
increased significantly, not daily but hourly. Also, the number of newly published
documents has increased dramatically, not only in terms of content and subjects
but also in various forms. Therefore, the problem for libraries is to have the right
orientation in the development of information resources, in order to enrich and
update the information resources, meeting the requirments of users. In this
article, the authors present a study on the current status of the Library and
Information Center of the Hanoi University of Industry. We also assess the
development of information resources at the Center, based on which propose a
number of solutions to develop information resources at the Library and
Information Center of the Hanoi University of Industry.
