Abstract

Dissimilar metal welding (DMW) process of single-V groove butt weld
between SS400 carbon steel and SUS304 stainless steel is difficultly, because
they have differences in composition and properties. The weld is require non
defect, stability microstructure and high strength. In this paper, author is
analysis combide simulation and experimental of shielded metal arc welding
(SMAW) process between SUS304 stainless steel and SS400 carbon steel. The
temperature fields, stress and distortion had been analysed by ANSYS software.
Metallography method was used for analysis metals microstructure of the weld
and heat affected zone (HAZ). There are data bases to application in dissimilar
metals welding process.
