Abstract

Researchers in the sciences and engineering disciplines have relied on
visualizing the diverse and complex structure of a research object in various sizes.
3D and 4D representationsare particularly important in all construction
engineering as well as mechanical engineering and in explaining many complex
scientific phenomena. After high school, students need spatial skills and
competencies to study and research in university environment. The current
situation of teaching at technical schools shows that a very small percentage of
first-year students have the necessary spatial capacity. Even when graduating
students still lack spatial visual skills due to the lack of opportunities to practice
and develop fully in the learning process. This paper presents the nature of
spatial visualization and the development of spatial ability, considers the
application of spatial visualization to teaching at all levels, and proposes
methods to help promote capacity. 4D thinking has both professional knowledge
to meet the needs of society in the period of scientific revolution 4.0.
